Michael Phelps To Host 34th Season Premiere Of SNL

Michael Phelps is being called a hero to the United States for the 8 gold medals that he won for his country while at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His incredible talents have won him stardom and popularity and it seems a job to host one of the funniest show on television.

SNL has asked that Michael Phelps host their next show. The record breaking swimmer stated that he will gladly be there for them during their 34th season premiere - which will air September 13th on NBC.

Joining the 23-year-old athlete as musical guest will be rapper Lil Wayne. Both will be making this their SNL debut. The swimmer will get his feet wet a week earlier as a presenter on the MTV Awards. Phelps joins Miley Cyrus, Scarlett Johansson, Lindsay Lohan and Ciara as presenters at the Sept. 7 VMAs telecast from Los Angeles. British comedian Russell Brand will host.
